Scene Description: Modern holy-water stoup described and illustrated in 'Sculpture en albâtre (1855)', in Patrimoine et Histoire de Champfromier, par Ghislain Lancel: "Ce bénitier se trouve en fait actuellement dans la chapelle Sainte-Anne de l'abbatiale de Nantua, à gauche en entrant (h=112 ; l=98, bénitier finement sculpté composé de deux vasques, décors de feuillages, arcatures néogothiques, manque 5 coquilles à la vasque supérieure). Il est mentionné dans le pré-inventaire "Bénitier d'albâtre, œuvre de Rougement, directeur de l'école industrielle de Nantua, qui le présenta en 1854 au Comice Agricole et en 1855 à l'Exposition des Beaux-Arts de Paris" [Pré-inv., canton de Nantua, p. 50]."
