Listed by Enlart (1902) as a 14th-century font with a round basin. On-site notes: large hemispheric basin ornamented with a band of trefoil arches on the upper basin sides; the rest of the basin is covered in a few very broad and deeply-carved ribs, except on of the ends in which a rectangular protrusion has been carved into two vertical columns; it is an oddly-shaped massive-looking font made of a single block of marble, somewhat reminiscent of a large paquiderm. Rim-buffet wooden cover with a top of raised scroll ribs holding up a miniature tower topped with a cross finial; the panels on the sides of the cover are busily carved with all manner of floral and foliage motifs, but the front has a Baptism of Christ scene on it, as well as being framed by floral and foliage motifs all around. [NB: although the church was open, the tall 19th-century wooden font cover was not, nor did we manage to locate anyone locally who could produce a key to the lock, so the internal shape of the font well and the corresponding measurements were not available to BSI].
