In his Notes sur l'art réligieux du Roussillon 2e partie: l'ornementation (Bulletin archéologique du Comité des travaux historiques et scientifiques, vol. 11, 1893: 361-362), Brutails mentions a number of ancient fonts, among which he notes: "les fonts du Vilar de Reynès ont une moulure horizontale près de la tranche [...] Ces fonts du Vilar de Reynès ont un couvercle en bois recouvert de cuir et de clous, qui parait etre ancien." Listed in Enlart (1902) as one of several 11-12th century unmounted oval ("franchement ovales") fonts. Described in Catalunya romànica (1984- ) as a hemispherical baptismal font ornamented with a flat moulding at the upper basin side; the wooden cover is lined with leather and ornamented with nail work [="tap de fusta revestit de cuir clavetejat"]
