Enlart (1902) lists a font here dated to either the 13th or 14th century. Described and illustrated in Le patrimoine des communes de Calvados (2001) as a tub-shaped baptismal font made of "pierre de Caen" in the 13th century; the upper basin side is round and plain; below it, a band of trefoil motif all around; the main area of the basin is octagonal, the sides marked by round columns used as buttresses at the angles; the spaces in between are ornamented with trefoil windows. The flat wooden lid is modern. Illustrated in Mémoire [ref.: AP14W01833].
A communication to BSI from Pol Herman (e-mail of 23 November 2022) notes: "I have the impression that the upper part of the font has recently been shortened. Old photos show a horizontal joint in the 'basin', and it seems that the part above the joint has been removed." PH's observation is of course correct, and the chages can be traced through the available photographs [cf. ImagesArea for the different 'stages' of the alterations].
