Listed by Enlart (1902) among a group of 12th-century footless tub-shaped fonts (octagonal) ornamented with a blind arcade. Listed in the Dictionnaire des églises... (1966- ) simply as 12th century font. Listed in Palissy [ref.: PM60001287]: "font baptismaux [...] calcaire [...] Cuve creusée en vasque octogonale reposant sur une socle de même forme [...] Ces fonts baptismaux peuvent être datés du 12e siècle [...] Le compartimentage de la cuve et le couvercle sont modernes. Le socle est repris." Noted in Eglises de l'Oise [www.eglisesdeloise.com/monument/pontpoint-eglise-saint-gervais/] [accessed 26 June 2017]: "frustes fonts baptismaux du 12ème siècle". The font consists of an octagonal basin with vertical sides decorated with a blind arcade of round arches; the octagon is irregular, four of the sides much narrower and could be described as the angles of a chamfered square; a row of ball motif all around below the uppe rim; on an octagonal lower base or plinth that has been restored or altered. Fitted cover with lock on the side; modern. The inner well of the basin has a metal lining with two compartments; also modern, as reported in the Palissy entry above.
