Listed by Enlart (1902) among a group of 12th century unmounted tub-shaped fonts (octagonal) ornamented with a blind arcade. Listed in Palissy [ref.: PM16000212] where it is dated 13th-century. The monolithic octagonal basin has vertical sides decorated with a series of geometric motifs and patterns, some repeated on several of the sides: the northwest side has a 4-petal floral motif resembling a Greek cross on its side, and three round windows or blind arches below; other sides have rows of diamond/lozenge, chequered pattern and arch/window patterns. There is a wooden cover of modern appearance, octagonal and flat, with metal reinforcement; some of the now-repaired damage to the uppr rim may be related to earlier anchors for an old cover. The font is located now [September 2016] at the west end of the nave, by the west entranceway; earlier photographs of 2014 show the font in a different location withing the church; the earlier photographs show the damage to the upper rim of the font, whereas the 2016 photographs show the damage repaired.
