Listed by Enlart (1902) among a group of metal fonts on stone bases, but, unless he was referring to a different font, that is not the casein Rlm. The font is of stone and octagonal in shape at the top tapering to a square lower end; the sides are deeply carved with male figures (two crowned, one possibly a tonsured cleric) holding charged shields with the arms of the Holy Roman Empire, Brandenburg, Bohemia, Gologne, Maiz, the Palatinate, Saxony and Trier; at the base are four (?) lions sejant-gardant. There is a metal frame atop the stone basin, but it appears to be either the overlap of the inner lining, or the bottom reinforcement of the font cover. The cover itself is an octagonal pyramid of gilded open-work with crocketed arrises and traceried panels.
