Font Notes:
Ruprich-Robert (1855) mentions a noteworthy font here, without further details. Square mounted font of the Tournai type, probably made from Boulogne marble (Cloquet, 1895). Enlart (1902) lists it also as a Tournai font and dates to the 11-12th century. The Dictionnaire des églises... (1966- ) describes it as being originally from "la paroisse du Crucifix dans l'abbaye Saint-Corneille", a square mounted font in Tournai black marble and dated to the 13th century. The font consists of a square basin with a round inner well; the upper surface is decorated with floral and foliage motifs at the spandrels; the sides of the font have a pattern of wavy vine all around interrupted at the centre of each side by a large floral (?) motif, rather uncharacteristic on these Tournai fonts; the cylindrical stem has a roll moulding on it but it is much worn now; the lower base is of the transitional type after the earlier ones with the four outer columns; the thick moulding all around the centre shaft is there, as are the broad leaves at the angles of the square. Brass cover, flat and hinged in the middle.

There are other Tournai-type fonts not far at Montdidier and Saint-Just en Chaussée; also two other Tournai fonts, more interesting from an iconographic point of view, near Saint-Quentin, at Vermand and Ribemont.
