Font Notes:
Cloquet (1895) writes that a fragment still visible in the wall of the church at Ere is the only part left of this Tournai baptismal font; he describes the fragment as being from a font similar to the one at Gallaix, "figurant des monstres analogues aux précédents". Illustrated in BALaT KIK-IRPA [https://balat.kikirpa.be/object/10056261] [accessed 3 March 2025]; it appears to be a fragment of the basin of a former 12th-century square table-top of the Tournai type mounted on an inner wall of the church; the fragment shows two partial sides of the former square basin, each with a lion passant facing opposite sides [NB: the source gives the height "hauteur: 72 cm" probably corresponding the the total height of the fragment].
