Church Notes: church listed in Mérimée [ref.: IA00130760]: "11e siècle ; 15e siècle ; 1ère moitié 16e siècle ; 2e quart 19e siècle [...]

On-site notes: double-font consisting of two basins which appear made of a single block of granite, one larger than the other; both basins are octagonal and their sides are ornamented with carved grape vines, shrubs and a shield. The bases are independent, the smaller is an octagonal column, the larger one ends in a square at ground level. Both basins have polygonal wooden covers of approximately the same height as the basins. The basins are ornamented chiefly with rosettes and other floral motifs. The base of the larger basin has four human heads, one at each bottom corner. The upper stone was broken where the basins join and there are other signs of damage. Repairs appear to be crude, very amateurish. Like many of the baptismal fonts in Brittany, this one stands under a tall canopy [cf. Images], as tall as the ceiling of the nave allows, although, by Breton standards, this is a rather restrained example. [Cf. Index entry for La Baussaine and other such Breton double-fonts]
