Listed and described in Le patrimoine des communes d'Ille-et-Vilaine (2000) and Malle (1994). Described in Glad: le portail des patrimoines de Bretagne [http://patrimoine.region-bretagne.fr] [accessed 10 November 2013]: "fonts baptismaux du 15e siècle dont la cuve en grès, taillée à facettes, s´orne de visages et de feuilles", where it is noted that it was one of the many furnishings re-used from the old church here. This same source lists a lead (?) lining made in the 19th century for the baptismal font here. Octagonal basin with plain sides; the rounded underbowl starts quite high and has a large human face at each of the eight angles; the space between the faces has floral ornamentation; the basin interior is divided in several compartments: a main round well for storing of the holy water, a secondary elongated well into which the water used in the baptism drops, and a pair of very small wells probably for the storage of the chrism oils; the upper base has half-columns on a central block; the lower base appears octagonal and has horizontal mouldings. The basin well, which has a 19th-century lead (?) lining, is not centered, but rather to one side, and is covered with a brass lid, low-domed and with a cross finial.
