Font Notes:
Described and illustrated in Roe (1968: 109 and pl. XLIII), who believes that this font is probably a medieval one of which "all parts of the work have been nicely machine-dressed". Roe (ibid.) remarks that "it does not seem possible to discover if this is the same font which Cogan [cf. Author's note below] saw set under a waterspout in the church grounds". The illustration in Roe shows a plain octagonal mounted font of the type where the lower half is a mirror image of the upper.
