An octagonal bronze font made by master Bernhuser in 1387. An illustration in Banreuther's Westpreussen in Wort und Bild (1927) shows a magnificent octagonal basin mounted on a pedestal, also octagonal. The visible three sides of the basin show -from left to right- the Nativity, the Adoration of the Magi and the Presentation in the Temple; the upper and lower rims of the basin are straight and unadorned, framing the scenes of the basin sides in almost perfect squares. There appears to be no chamfer at all in the underbowl. The visible sides of the octagonal pedestal base frame each a figure standing full-front, probably Prophets or Fathers of the Church. At the bottom, and protruding quite a lot from the base itself, eight lions rest in different postures, one at each angle of the base. There is no cover present but the upper rim has the characteristic head anchoring that is often used for the font lock in this type of metal font.
