Font Notes:
Noted in Cox & Harvey (1907) and Harrison (1920) as a baptismal font of the Norman period. Noted in Drummond-Roberts (1935). Whiteman (1998) describes it as a massive square font dating from the 12th century. The CRSBI (2008) entry for this church notes: "The large square stone font is said to date from the 12thc., but was not recorded. It stands on five shafts, a fat central shaft and four smaller angle shafts. These in turn stand on three superimposed square plinths or steps." [NB: there is no photograph of the font in the CRSBI entry for this church].
