Scene Description: Source caption: "Iglesia de San Miguel en Saldaña (Palencia, Castile and León). Templo documentado al menos desde 1362. Se levanta a partir de una planta de tres naves, separadas por pilares cilíndricos cuya parte superior está delimitada por una moldura decorada con bolas y sogueado, motivo que se repite en el arranque de los arcos que separan las naves y en las ménsulas de las que parten las nervaturas de las cubiertas. En contraste con su recio aspecto externo, en su interior alberga auténticas joyas de los siglos XVI y XVII."

Martin Gonzalez (1977) reports a 16thC baptismal font here. Several web sites local to the area describe the parish church as 16th-century but the baptismal font as "románica"; these comments tend to be often inaccurate, as is the case of this font, clearly of the Renaissance period and style.
