Ruprich-Robert (1888-1889: p. CLXXI, fig. 6) drawing shows a chalice-shaped baptismal font in the style of the Röen and Sanbu patterns, sharing motifs and general shape from both -though it could be contemporary or, even, earlier than them. The upper rim ornament is an intertwined circle motif similar to Röen's, while the basin side ornamentation is closer to Sandbu's. The upper base motif is very similar to the angular knitting found in the Tune font. The lower base is graded, wider at the bottom, with three steps, and similar to one at Sandbu's (description based on ill. in Ruprich-Robert, 1884-1889). Illustrated in Blindheim (1965: fig. 79). The font is one of two items preserved from the earlier Romanesque stavkirke demolished in 1880. The new church at Garmo was built in 1879 by architect Jacob Wilhelm Nordan. Font noted and illustrated in Lisbeth Hag [https://www.lisbethhag.com/images/i286260064382658392._szw1280h1280_.jpg] [accessed 8 December 2022]
