A drwaing in Ruprich-Robert (1884-1889) shows a chalice-shaped baptismal font with a braided motif right at the upper rim; below it a band of ondulating vegetal motif delimited at the bottom by two lines; below these a scant vegetal motif covers the underbowl. The cylindrical upper base has a knitted angular motif; the upper part of the lower base, truncated-cone shaped, has simple angle motif and crenellations; two wider flat plain cylinders make up the plinth. Described in the entry in Norges Kirker by Sigrid Marie Christie and Håkon Christie [www.norgeskirker.no/wiki/Tune_kirke] [accessed 20 December 2015]: "Døpefonten sto ant. nederst i skipet (nytt gulv «nederst i Kirchen och i funten» 1711). Prekestol ved skipets sydmur (besikt. 1673), ant. senere overflyttet til nordsiden (Hagen, s. 77). Innelukket stol† ved korets nordmur, oppført for Jens Werenskiold 1719. [...] Døpefont fra slutten av 1100-årene (Kjellbergs ms.). Kleber av vanlig mørk, biotittrik type, ant. fra brudd i draget langs Stora Le (Chr. Gleditsch). Hugget av ett stykke, kalkformet. Kummen har øverst en bred fletning, forøvrig forsenket rankeornamentikk. På undersiden palmettrelieff. Skaft med ringkjede. På foten tungemotiv. Avløpshull i bunnen. H. 58 cm. Diam. 60 cm. (Universitetets Oldsaksamling.)" The font is reported to have been located in the old church in 1711 at the west end of the nave; Christie & Christie refer to Kjellberg's dating to the late 12th century (Reidar Kjellberg's Døpefonter og dåpsskikk)
