Workshop/Group/Artisan: Onofre Julià (aka Giulia)
Magnificently elegant font carved from a single block of light Carrara marble by the Florentine master Onofre Julià [spelling?] in 1433. It is chalice-shaped with arrises that start at the upper rim and continue in helicoidal manner all the way to the bottom of the base. Noted in Liaño Martínez (1983). [NB: Mestre i Godes (1999: 126) describes a marble immersion font now in the Museu de la Catedral probably referring to the older quatrefoil font located there].
