A drawing of this font in Speltz (1994 c1910: 129 pl. 65 fig. 2) shows a font of late Byzantine ornament; like the Palazzo itself, the font probably is dated to the late 15th century. The outer shape is square, though it is really a cylindrical shape housed in a square arcade; the inner cylinder is profusely decorated with foliage, as are the round arches and the capitals; the columns themselves, four larger ones at the corners and four more slender in between, are all plain and non-constructional. The whole rests on a short plinth.
