"Fonts baptismaux de Legnica (Liegnitz), XIIIe s." and inscription (Favreau, 1985, footnote 106). The Wikipedia entry for the cathedral [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cathedral_of_Saint_Apostles_Peter_and_Paul_in_Legnica] [accessed 23 February 2025] reports: "a bronze baptismal font in the shape of a 13th-century mass chalice". The basin is decorated with scenes of the Vita Christi cycle in an arcade of trefoiled arches that has human heads an six-pointed stars in the spandrels;above the arcade runs an inscription; the slender pedestal base is decorated with an arcade of opemwork with standing angels between the arches; the lower base is decorated with varied motifs, some of which openwork; stands om foliated legs shaped like leaves. No cover present.
