The cuppola of the baptistry has a mosaic depicting, in its centre, the baptism of Christ by John the Baptist, on the left, pouring water over Christ's head while an old bearded person (a personification of the river Jordan?) seats on the left. Around the centre, in a circle, twelve figures (the Apostles?) standing.
