A picture of the abbey church of Saint-Pierre in Solignac shows either a large vessel at the back of the church, centre of the nave. The object appears chalice-shaped and plain (description based on an ill. in France, 1985, p. 699) On-site notes: the object is a granite holy-water stoup consisting of an octagonal basin with very short vertical sides -almost like a rim- and pronounced chamfering at the underbowl. It is raised on a conical quasi-cylindrica; stem and a round lower base. [cf. also Index entries for the two other objects located at either side of the entrance [Solignac Nos. 2 and 3]
