Church Notes: church of a Benedictine abbey founded probably 10thC; re-built 13th, 14th, 16th, 18thC; listed in Mérimée [ref.: PA00099403]
Holy-water stoup decorated with figure/s (?); 15th century. (Chastel, 1966, p. 288). Although Chastel does not mention the name of the church, this same stoup is described and located in Lasteyrie (1926-1927) as a basin raised on a console ornamented with a large snail with a human head ["un gros colimaçon à tête humaine"]. Lasteyrie cites Chanoine Bonnefant's L'église Saint-Taurin d'Évreux, 1926, pl. 21, fog. 2, as source. Listed in Palissy [ref.: PM27000709] as a stone stoup of the 13th century.
