Described in Parker (1855): "Font, E[arly] E[nglish]; a square bowl, with slightly sunk panels; it stands on round legs." Noted and illustrated in Knott (2006): "Ancient font, from about 1300 [...] stands against a pillar in the south aisle [but] is older than the pillar. It is from an earlier church." The square basin has four pointed arches on one side, three on the other [available source only shows two sides]; it is raised on a central shaft and four non-constructional columns, on a tall square plinth that is attached to the base of a pillar at the west end of the nave, on the south side. The font has a wooden cover, square at the base, with eight turned straight ribs around a central pivot; ball finial; appears modern.
