Listed in Palissy [ref.: PM60001548]: "fonts baptismaux [...] calcaire [...] Il ne subsiste que la cuve, le support des fonts est moderne [...] Cuve sur plan octogonal irrégulier munie d'un trou d'écoulement sur un côté [...] La cuve est divisée en deux registres par un tore. Le registre inférieur ne porte aucun décor, le registre supérieur est décoré d'une série de feuilles polylobées encadrant une rosette centrale [...] Cette pièce faisait partie du fonds de la Société d'Histoire et d'Archéologie de Senlis qui l'a léguée au musée. L'oeuvre a été déposée à la cathédrale à la demande de l'affectataire. Lors de son classement cet objet a été daté du 15e siècle. Cette date n'est pas recevable, le décor atteste une production du 13e siècle. [...] lieu de provenance: Picardie, 60, Senlis, Hôtel-Dieu". Described and illustrated in Darolles ([1980?]). As indicated in the Palissy entry above, the font was ceded by the Société d'Histoire et d'Archéologie of Senlis, and later located in the former cathedral; the base is a modern replacement. The font was photographed by Monuments historiques in 1993 and it looked in a rather poor state; it has been restored.
