Church Notes: Leau (or Zoutleeuw), called the "joyeau du Brabant", is said to have been founded by Saint-Remacle (ca. 600-700). The original St-Leonard dates from 1125, although most of the present building was built between the 13th and 16th centuries.

According to our source (Vandeput, 1982, p.51) the brass baptismal font dates from the 16th century and has a height of 226 cm [sic] and a diameter of 80 cm.; it is shaped like a ciborium and rests on a 15th cent. cast iron lever; the cover can be rested on the left corner of the base (Eng. transl.) Booklet contains opening hours for visits, though they may be dated (cf. p. 98)
