One of two fonts situated to either side of the church's entrance (Canellas Lopez, 1971). Described and illustrated in Antonio García Omedes' entry for this monastery church [www.romanicoaragones.com/0-Jacetania/60-Siresa.htm] [accessed 25 June 2020]: "A los lados de la puerta oeste hay dos pilas bautismales; una moderna jaspeada y otra más antigua, cinchada con aros metálicos". The older baptismal font consists of a hemispherical basin with prolongued vertical sides raised on a short stem and a wide circular plinth; the work appears quite crude and the sides of the basin are reinforced with two iron rings. Although the font is not dated in the source it may be from the 13th century. The basin has a plain modern wooden cover. [cf. Index entry for Siresa No. 2 for the other font in this church]
