Church Notes: The wedding of Juan II of Castille and Isabel of Portugal took place in this church in 1443 (Vega Carnicero, 1996, p. 89)
Described and illustrated in Cerro Calvo (2002: 46): baptismal font made of granite; the basin is roughly hemispherical, almost cylindrical, decorated with a rol moulding at the upper rim and ribbed pattern around the sides and underbowl; the short cylindrical pedestal base is plain; the lower base is square with a round moulding on top from which stem four lanceolated motifs at the four angles of the square lower volume. Vega Carnicero (1996: 88-89, ill. on p. 87) states that it is the font in which queen Isabella of Castille was baptised [in 1451].
