Described in Nieto Taberné (1994) and (2001) as a Romanesque baptismal font now [1994-2001] half buried in the ruins of the old church [Hortizuela is an abandoned village]; the basin is rather shallow whose upper side is ornamented with a band of ornamentation including a six-point star or six-petal flower, and ribbed pattern below. The Enciclopedia del románico en Castilla-La Mancha: Cuenca (2009) reports that the font was moved to a private residence since Nieto Taberné's time.
