Font Notes:
Listed in Brunius (1850: 507). Described and illustrated in Tynell (1913-1921: 78 [et al.] and pl. XXXVI: 3): medieval baptismal font of the Genarp group, a roughly cylindrical basin decorated with a band of palmette motif around the centre basin sides, and with an inscription at the upper rim side [cf. Inscription area]; the underbowl is ornamented with ribbed pattern; the base is a pedestal with a centre ring moulding below which is a band of ribbed pattern similar to that on the underbowl; the lower end of the base is square. Rydbeck (1936: 387) identifies the palmette motif with the Tove master. Listed in Carlsson (1970: 318ff). Classified in Drake (2002: 184) as a variant of the palmette goblet groups a-b (Bosarp-Dagstorp). Noted and illustrated in the SHM Medeltidens bildvärld [ref.: 900616F2] as a 'palmettgruppen' baptismal font made of sandstone ca. 1200. No cover present.
