Scene Description: Source caption: "Pila bautismal de cantería arenisca que se levanta sobre un corto pie diferenciado en dos sectores por un toro y una Escocia, en el superior un cuerpo octogonal y circular el inferior. Pila de gran fondo enlazando directamente con este último cuerpo; facetada, con ocho caras al exterior y lisa circular al interior. Cada faceta con un relieve, apareciendo dos leones, tres águilas, un escudo de armas, un animal rampante y un jarrón con azucenas. Las caras rematan en molduras con ensogado y cabezas de clavos. Hasta hace poco se ubicaba en la capilla bautismal, bajo el incomparable marco de la portada románica de la desaparecida ermita de San Esteban. Segun Linazasoro, el jarrón de azucenas era logotipo de los caballeros de la orden de la terraza, fundada por el rey Navarro García, en 1044. Muestra de la gran influencia Navarra que hubo en Tolosa. On-site visit: chalice-shaped octagonal mounted font; the upper part of the basin sides has a thin band which simulates a reinforcement rope or iron ring with nail motif; the sides of the basin are ornamented with a blank shield, a rampant lion facing left, a griffin? facing left, an eagle with spread wings, a bear? facing left, a vase with flowers in it, a rampant lion facing right, and a small eagle with ten rosettes around it; the upper half of the stumpy base belongs to the basin block and is octagonal; the lower half is round and decorated with a single roll moulding. There are traces of polychromy on the sides. There is damage to the upper rim related to the font cover hardware, but there is no cover present.
