On-site notes: very large chalice-shaped font has the basin ornamented with ribbed pattern. The font was donated to this church by a noble family, but its origin is unknown. In order to get it to the present position through the narrow openings of the cloister, it was rolled on its side (!) into the cloister garden and is now [June 1999] being turned into a water fountain. [Information provided by the helpful and friendly priest who provided access; he is a master-mason and well-known mosaic-maker [cf. images and photo archive]]. Hinges evident in the rim.
