Entorno a ella testimonios escritos de mediados del siglo XIII, mencionan la existencia de una pequeña aldea. LAs fuentes escritas de finales del XVI confirman que todavía seguía poblado." Romanesque baptismal font (Santamaria, 1988, p. 184). In his entry for this church [www.acueducto2.com/de-orejanilla-a-la-ermita-de-orejana/9685] [accessed 18 June 2020] Juan Pedro Velasco Sayago notes: "Además de una pila bautismal sencilla, conserva otra pila románica decorada con gallones o gajos, del templo de Espíritu Santo". There are two Romanico Digital entries for this church [www.romanicodigital.com/cedar/pila-bautismal-15723.aspx] and the other for the font in a north chapel [http://www.romanicodigital.com/cedar/pila-bautismal-en-la-capilla-norte-15778.aspx]. Rosa G. Nieves [http://romanicoenrosa.blogspot.com/2017/02/la-galeria-porticada-de-la-iglesia-de.htm] [accessed 18 June 2020] also reports two fonts here, one of which is described as Romanesque: "el interior de la iglesia está muy modificado por las reformas de la época barroca. De las dos pilas bautismales que tiene, una es románica. Proviene de la iglesia de San Nicolás de Orejanilla. Presenta 16 grandes gallones, cenefa de flores en el borde de la copa e interior avenerado. En su pie hay unas figuras muy deterioradas entre las que se pueden distinguir una pareja de aves entrelazando sus cuellos y picoteándose las patas y una sirena de doble cola."
