Font Notes:
Described and illustrated in Catalunya romànica (1984- , vol. XIX: 511) and in Buron (1980: 88): composite holy-water stoup probably from the 12th or 13th century or a little later; the upper part is made of a single block of stone divided in two parts by a [horizontal] rope motif, resembling a capital and a column on a square base. The upper part resembles a mortar with massive handles at the top [two are broklen], and is ornamented with a horizontal strap or flat moulding which is crossed by several [4?] vertical ones; the latter resembles ironwork reinforcing the basin. It is believed to have been originally from the castle [Castel de Montbui, o de la Tossa]. The base is a rounded column with vertical mouldings which Catalunya rom.. suggests may be an altar support.
