This baptismal font "como todas las de la diócesis, es de granito con gallones convexos en espiral" [=like all others in the diocesis is made of granite and has convex ribs twisting up in a helix] is believed to have been the one in which St. Teresa of Avila was baptised (Gomez-Moreno, 1983, p.192). Copper lining inside the bowl and ornate brass ring encircles the enormous font; both these were a donation of the Teresian Sisters order.
