The font is made up of a multi-lobed basin, a beautiful capital which serves as the upper base, and a cylindrical lower base. The capital is probably from the cloister of the cathedral of Jaca and the work of Maestro Esteban; it is decorated with several human figures: 2 young men holding animals in their hands, a woman with veil and mantle, a young man and a winged male figure carrying a sword and a staff topped with a fleur-de-lis. The lower base is a plain stump of column (Simon, [s.d.], p. 423-435). On-site notes (June 1999): The capital font is no longer used and a contemporary base has replaced it. The capital is still in the church under a glass case for exhibition purposes. For a recent 2008 overall view of the church, the capital and the font, visit the site of the Romanico Aragones [http://www.romanicoaragones.com/0-Jacetania/08-StoDomingo02.htm] [accessed 29 May 2008]. Antonio Garcia Omedes, webmaster of the site, informs that the previous montage of the font was removed in 2000.
