Described in Buron (1980) as a baptismal font ornamented with vegetal motifs. Described and illustrated in Catalunya romànica (1984- ) with a suggested dating to the second half of the 12th or first half of the 13th century. Described and illustrated in Amiell (2007). This font is very similar to the one at Sant Miqueu in Vielha, as well as to others in this valley, a cylindrical basin ornamented with a vine of foliage in large scale; the lower part of the basin is chamferred; the stem of the base is ornamented with a blind arcade of round arches intercalated with geometric or zig-zag motifs; the lower base consists of two large mouldings, the lower one ornamented with a row of ball motif, as is common with other such fonts in the area. "Romanesque font from the XII century" (ACTUR, 1999, p.5). On-site notes: iron staples of the old cover still present; the flat palin cover in use now is modern [NB: during our 1999 visit to this church we were allowed to photograph the font with much reluctance [resistance?] from the churchwarden, who eventually refused to allow us to take the measurements of the font or to locate the possible drainage].
