According to Elias Odriozola, 1993 (111-116): this is the font in which, according to tradition, St. Ignatius of Loyola was baptised. The font is made of sandstone but the ornate Baroque cover is made of wood and zinc (the original silver covering was looted in 1794 by invading French troops). The dome cover is made of the same materials imitating marble is topped by a wooded image of St. Ignatius.
