A Gothic chalice-shaped polygonal font had the image of St. Peter wearing a three-tier papal mitre and holding the keys, carved inside a shield on the front side of the basin. The base was very thin in the middle with a centre angular moulding and there was a small polygonal plinth. Dome-like cover, apparently polygonal as well. The caption under the illustration reads "Pica baptismal d'estil gòtic amb la representació de Sant Pere (avui desapareguda). Fot. J.F. Clariana." [=Gothic style baptismal font with the image of St. Peter (font now missing). Photography J.F. Clariana.] (Seccio Grup d'Amics de l'Art Romanic, 1992, p. 23). The church of Sant Pere de Riu (or Pineda) is located near the town of Tordesa, in El Maresme region, province of Barcelona).
