Noted in Bilbao (1996) and in García Guinea (1998) as baptismal font of the Romanesque period. Described and illustrated in the Enciclopedia del románico en Castilla y León (2002-) as late-Romanesque ["tardorrománica"] dated to the 13th century and related to the fonts at Helecha de Valdivia and Porquera de los Infantes, in the same area. The font is of the typical design in Palencia for the period: bucked-shaped basin on a squat base; the sides of the basin are decorated with six (?) very broad arches without supports, within which are inscribed several ypes of vegetal motifs; the upper rim is worked as a round moulding; on the lower basin side, a band of scallop motif all around; the carving is very shallow, not at all like some the Palencia and Burgos fonts of the period. Besides the squat base, the font is raised on a cylindical pedestal decorated with a roll moulding at the top, which may be of a later date. There is some damage to the fonts sides, especially at the rim and upper sides. Noted in Martín Jiménez (2008).
