Described in Bilbao (1996) and in García Guinea (1998): baptismal font of the Romanesque period; G-G (ibid.) informs that the church itself was consecrated on 1222 and that the font may well be from circa that date, perhaps earlier since the consecration date may have been later than the carving of the font. Noted and illustrated in Martín Jiménez (2008). Artemio Manuel Mártinez Tejera, in Románico Norte [www.romaniconorte.org/es/contenido/index.asp?iddoc=65] [accessed 1 September 2011] dates the font to the 16th century. The large basin has ribbed pattern inside and out; the round base has torus-scotia combination moulding. The outer design is common to fonts in this area for centuries, but the inner well is not Romanesque, therefore Martinez Tejera is probably right and the font is a much later date. The entry for this church in the Enciclopedia del románico [https://www.romanicodigital.com/sites/default/files/pdfs/files/palencia_CABRIA.pdf] [accessed 19 February 2025] mentions a 16th-century font in it: "pila bautismal gallonada del siglo XVI".
