Described in Bilbao (1996). Noted and illustrated in Valle Barreda (2009). Baptismal font of the Romanesque period; the basin is very wide but the vertical sides are quite short and ornamented with a vine that stems out of a grotesque head; the vine is populated with foliage, fruit and even a tiny dragon; the underbowl, also quite shallow for the size of the font, is ribbed and has a protruding human figure holding a large key, St. Peter; the base consists of a circular centre pedestal with four constructional angle protrusions. According to Bilbao (ibid.), the base was discoverered buried in the church grounds. On-site notes: although the figures or motifs of the base are very worn and therefore it is not possible to identify what they represent with any certainty, they appear to be human figures and animals; the rest of the font is in a relatively good state of repair, with the usual damage to the upper rim and upper basin sides.
