Listed in Pérez Carmona (1974). Described in Guerra (1986 c1978) as a baptismal font of the Romanesque period ornamented with a wavy festooned motif symbolising the waters. Described in Bilbao (1996). The baptismal font consists of a round basin with tapering sides and rounded underbowl, raised on a short cylindrical stem and a circular plinth; the basin has a thick roll moulding at the upper rim, followed down by a well-rendered acanthus vine with fruit, sandwiched between thin mouldings; the lower sides and underbowl are decorated with a thick ribbed pattern; the stem has scalloped motif at the top, followed down by a band of very regular interlace pattern all around; the wooden cover is flat and plain, hinged in the middle; the upper rim of the basin retains its old locking hardware. The inner basin well has no apparent drain hole, but there appear to be a rough area in the centre which suggests the original drain may have been cemented over. The font is in remarkably good preservation at this time.
