Font Notes:
Described in Bilbao (1996: 86, 298) as a baptismal font of the Romanesque period; the underbowl has blind arcade decoration; the base may be of a later date. The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed 24 July 2021] notes: "La iglesia es renacentista [...] Recientemente ha sido totalmente restaurada. La pila de bautismo es de vaso con arcos incisos y tiene base cilíndrica moldurada". The font has had a rough life; there are several large repairs in cement that are already cracking, both on the basin and the base, the latter probably a later replacement. The wooden cover is modern.
