Listed in Pérez Carmona (1974). Described in Bilbao (1996) as a baptismal font of the Romanesque period. The basin has an arcade of fourteen arches inscribing horseshoe arches that contain diverse symbols: several flowers/rosettes, radiated and chained circles, a four-point star and a castle with three towers, a round-top door and a window over it. It rests on a wide circular lower base. The font cover is flat, plain and round, and fits the two metal staples from the old cover at the rim. The entry for this village in Emiliano Nebreda Perdiguero [www.archiburgos.es/wp-content/uploads/amo-a-mi-pueblo.pdf] [accessed 4 May 2021] notes: "La Asunción de Nuestra Señora es la titular de su iglesia, renacentista [...] [NB: for the other font mentioned in the Enciclopedia del románico en Castilla y León (2002- ) [cf. supra] see BSI entry for Villasur de Herreros No. 2].
