There is an entry for Aston [Ingham] [variant spelling] in the Domesday survey [http://domesdaymap.co.uk/place/SO6823/aston-ingham/] [accessed 20 October 2014], but it mentions neither cleric nor church in it. A lead font here is listed in Cox & Harvey (1907) as dated 1689. Described in Bond (1908) as a lead font ornamented with various motifs and inscriptions which date it to 1689. Described and illustrated in the Royal Commission's inventory of Herefordshire (1931-1934): "Font [...]: with cylindrical lead bowl with moulded top and bottom rims and drum ornamented in relief with initial W.R. and W.M. and date 1689, cherub-heads, acanthus leaves and foliage; modern stem with 13th-century moulded capital and chamfered base." [cf. Index entry for Aston Ingham No. 2 for a holy water stoup in this church, probably medieval]
