A badly eroded fragment of a baptismal font is found in the churchyard, just west of the south entrance, in a flower-bed; it is either the basin of a square mounted font, or the square base of a goblet-shaped font [We were not able to get any information locally regarding the origins of this object - July 23, 1998]. The Norfolk Heritage Explorations site (2009) [www.norfolkheritage.org.uk/breckles/default.asp?subname=breckles&id=5] [accessed 16 July 2009] notes: "in the churchyard is the stone bowl on the south side of the tower adjacent to the porch. It was found sunk in the ground some 10ft (3m) from the north wall. There are various explanations as to its likely origins and some have suggested that it might be the discarded font from Breccles Parva church. Perhaps it was the predecessor to the current font at Breckles church font or perhaps it was the base of the medieval churchyard cross."
