Described in Lojendio (1985) as a Romanesque font of the late-12th century font. Listed in Cobreros (1993) as a Romanesque font. Described and illustrated in López de Silanes Valgañón (2000), who suggests a date towards the late 13th century. Described and illustrated in Sáenz Rodríguez (2004) who dates it to the mid-12th century. In the Enciclopedia del románico en La Rioja (2008) with suggested date in the mid-12th century and a possible relation to the font at Villavelayo, and even that would be a stretch. On-site notes: the font is globlet-shaped; the basin has very original scalloped pattern in that it has vertical lines breaking each scale creating a reticular pattern, a fine work indeed; at the upper rim, a roll moulding; the stem of the base has a roll moulding at either end and is ornamented with torsade pattern in between them; the lower base was probably square but is badly damaged, whereas the basin is well preserved; given the size and other characteristics of this font, the late date suggested in López de Silanes Valgañón above would be more reasonable than the 12th-century dates suggested in other sources.
