Font Notes:
Bilbao (1996) describes it as being more consistent with a baptismal pool ["piscina baptisterial"] intended for collective baptisms. Described and illustrated in the Enciclopedia del románico en Castilla y León (2002- ) which gives its present [ca. 2002] location in a village square just south of the church; the Enciclopedia (ibid.) makes reference to two earlier authors who reported it disused and re-used as a water trough. It is a rectangular object with a a shallow basin [which may be accounted for it being semi-filled with concrete]; it is missing one of the corners, and the base, if it ever had one; the source reports a totally illegible inscription at the upper rim, of which an earlier author had read the word 'presbiter'. The Enciclopedia.. .
