Morris (1932) notes: "Hidden away in the base of the tower is a plain Trans[itional] font." Mee (1941) notes a plain font in this church which he describes as a remain of the Normans. The Marton Parish entry in Daelnet [www.daelnet.co.uk/features/churches/skptpend/marton.htm] mentions "a rough-hewn Norman font" in this church. [NB: this is one of three Martons in North Yorkshire, and is also known as Marton-in-Craven]
